Description:
The installation explores the perception of space through light as a tangible medium. Rather than observing an object, visitors become immersed in a constantly evolving environment where the boundaries between the body and light dissolve. Human movement acts as a catalyst for transformation: the light responds, intensifies, and generates a collective visual rhythm. Space is no longer perceived as static but unfolds as a living, dynamic process.
Concept
PULSE is an immersive installation that explores the condition of fragmentation in contemporary society and the possibility of overcoming it through collective experience.
Today, people increasingly perceive themselves as isolated, self-contained individuals. This is not a conflict but a familiar mode of existence. The installation proposes an alternative scenario—a space where isolation gradually dissolves and the presence of others becomes essential to the emergence of a greater whole.
Here, the visitor is not an observer but an active part of the system. Their actions are fundamental to its existence.
The installation functions as a responsive environment that reacts to touch. Light, sound, and vibration operate as a single interconnected process: every impulse initiated by a participant does not disappear but travels through others, gaining strength as it is transmitted. Individual signals merge into a shared dynamic, transforming apparent chaos into rhythm.
As interactions accumulate, the environment becomes increasingly dense and immersive. Light intensifies, the sonic composition grows more complex, and the space begins to behave like a living organism. Individual differences do not vanish; instead, they converge into a shared tension—a moment when the system transcends its own boundaries.
The project's central metaphor is the factory as a model of collective production—a place where individual actions are assembled into a continuous process.
The installation is composed of translucent light columns arranged throughout the space in an apparently random configuration. Every touch activates both light and sound. The more participants become involved, the stronger the overall effect: impulses overlap and intertwine, creating a living composition that is constantly evolving.
An additional layer is introduced through decorative metal panels with undulating surfaces. These panels reflect and diffuse light, weaving individual signals into a unified visual environment while reinforcing the sense of flow, continuity, and interconnectedness.
PULSE is not an object but a state.
